SCHWEIZER MANUAL

Manuel Schweizer is a classical pianist (but not only), who has performed in more than 25 countries, on all continents.

He was fortunate to benefit from the teaching of Éric Heidsieck at the CNSM in Lyon.

He is the author of two books that celebrate his work as a pianist, each in a different style:

Disconcerting Concerts, or the Surprises of a Traveling Pianist – published by Éditions Globophile – is a collection of concert tour stories. Emotion, suspense, and humor punctuate the chapters, unfolding through a prelude, seven fugues in foreign lands, and a Lyon-based and (almost) pornographic coda.

Piano, gesture, sound – published by the University Press of Dijon – is a treatise on piano interpretation and technique, for both body and mind, an interactive work and a documented summary of an entire teaching career – Manuel Schweizer is a piano professor at the Lyon Conservatory – which presents original and innovative playing principles. He methodically analyzes all the mechanisms of piano playing and the parameters of interpretation.

Bypassing tedious and repetitive exercises, this book offers simple and effective solutions to any pianist who questions their own practice and wishes to play easily and effortlessly.
